Using Google for Academic Research

John Hernandez is the Coordinator for Social Sciences at the Main Library.
For the last decade, John has been a reference and instruction librarian specializing in political science, public policy, public administration, and government information resources. He has taught many classes on finding government information, database searching, Web searching, and using the Web for academic research.
John will demonstrate techniques using Google’s advanced search features to help you zero in on scholarly materials via the Web. He will also cover Google’s specialized tools, including Google Scholar and Google Book Search, and discuss ways to use these in concert with other traditional library tools to make the most of your search.
